About TUMI

Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI)

Cities and metropolitan regions in Africa, Asia and Latin America are seeking solutions for their overloaded transport systems. To support their efforts, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) is launching the Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI) together with numerous partners, supporting activities in the field of sustainable urban mobility. A transition towards sustainable urban mobility requires a shift in policy making and investment decisions. The Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative will support this transition by mobilising significant investments in sustainable urban transport infrastructure, building the capacity of key decision makers and supporting innovative and transformative sustainable mobility approaches on the ground.
